I live in Saint Louis and only go near that clusterdoodle of interstates when my number comes up for jury duty.

Ha! That 44/55/40/64/70 interchange is a real bad mother. And being able to successfully navigate it is a good test to distinguish a local from an out of towner. Also, that’s right near the so called “depressed section” (if you know, you know). Once was driving with a visiting out of towner who heard the depressed section mentioned during a radio traffic report. They asked if that was referring to the bad part of town. My instant reply was “why yes, yes it is.” And yes, I laughed at my own joke.
Also, the CBS logo visible on the 1 Memorial Drive tower to the left of the Arch was the (former) office and studios of KMOV channel 4, until they bailed out to the suburb of Maryland Heights a couple of years ago. Nobody wants to be downtown anymore; even KSDK Channel 5 is bailing from their longtime HQ on Market Street for space in the Highlands office park development across 40 (I-64 for you non-locals) from Forest Park. Which, somewhat amusingly, is a stones throw away from where KTVI channel 2 used to be located until they moved to a new facility in Maryland Heights many years ago. There’s your useless STL trivia for the day.
Rick–Never thought of that , but true!
boneman–I do what I can… 😉
stlview–Had to do that once. I’ll use any other route to get across the Mississippi after that.
BRD–Not an area you want to get lost in. And thanks for the trivia–did not know!

That dress won’t fit Sandy the Bartender from Yorktown Heights any more. It wasn’t made of spandex
