UPenn, Wil Thomas, Apologies–Frickin’ about time

Wil Thomas is going to be stripped of all the titles he stole from women. Not only that, UPenn is going to apologize to every woman who lost to this man following a Title IX investigation that found that UPenn was in violation. And the women are going to receive their earned awards and trophies.

The resolution agreement signed by the university will require it to undertake a host of additional actions, including adopting “biology-based definitions for ‘male’ and ‘female’ under Title IX” and issuing a public statement that it will no longer allow biological men to compete in female athletic programs or occupy women-only locker rooms.

The Trump administration had frozen $175 Million due to this violation. The fact that UPenn backed off showed that money talks and having that money frozen trumps any ideology they might have said that they adhere to.

Additionally UPenn is going to adopt standards in line with Title IX and the President’s executive order.

Although UPenn is still weasely, putting a footnote on their webpage that says:  ‘NOTE: Competing under eligibility rules in effect at the time, Lia Thomas set program records in the 100, 200 and 500 freestyle during the 2021-22 season’.

They won’t be able to have that kind of footnote again though!

    This is good news, all well and fine. I have a slightly different take on UPenn being contrite about this crap though. Yes, the money trumped the ideology because they needed the money more than they wanted to virtue signal over trans garbage. But I don’t believe for a moment that they are genuinely sorry or repentant for this episode. Presumably, the same leadership is still in place, and their personal beliefs are unchanged, floating just under the surface.

    Once they get a more amenable political regime in place again in the future, I expect all this crap to re-emerge, and even worse then, as they will have been primed for retribution for having been decisively smacked down. Hell, statues of historical figures from hundreds of years ago were desecrated, removed and destroyed over grudges that existed centuries before anyone alive today was around to complain about them.

    Do not assume this battle is won, because it isn’t. The ideology itself, and those pushing it, need to be destroyed in a crushing defeat to ensure they don’t come back again like a cancer. The present situation is just a short term respite from transinsanity, decreed by government lawyers, and subject to future change by different government lawyers. I have little faith in the staying power of this settlement. Subversives have the patience to overtake a target from within, and long memories with which to cultivate grudges that will may not be made good on for decades or longer. But they will wait it out until they can regain the power to ruin their adversaries.

    So what are they going to do to make it right for the women he exposed his junk to? The women that were forced to expose themselves to him? The women punished for objecting to such harassment?

      Unferth, I’m all for having the swim girls’ dads/boyfriends/both take it out of his hide, but that’s just me.

    “They” will do nothing. At the most, perhaps some monetary “settlement” will be offered, and even that is doubtful in my mind. Which goes back to my point above that the ideology that spawned this crap must be absolutely crushed to prevent it from respawning in a few years, so that there will not be a whole new group of victims created. Those who suffered under this program of forced societal re-engineering the last few years just got the shit end of the stick, nothing can really be done properly remediate the points you raised. That damage is done.

    Reinstatement of their erstwhile records and trophies is a small token gesture, and really doesn’t make it right. They still suffered the embarrassment of being upstaged by an imposter, and their moment of glory in what should’ve been a win was stolen from them when it actually took place, with onlookers present. That is what will be remembered. Retroactively giving them official recognition now in the published stats doesn’t make up for that insult, as it is tantamount a newspaper publishing a correction or retraction for a prior front page story some months later on page 57, below the fold. Maybe some are satisfied with that outcome, but I probably wouldn’t be. Yes, I am the type who wants and demands retribution for wrongs done to me personally. If the system doesn’t provide the relief required, I will very likely satiate that need by other means.

    i do not think universities ae much good for anything unless we would be talking about Cal Tech, MIT, Texas ATM, or Stanford. other that that i think we need to go back to trade schools

    What I never understood during this controversy is why NONE of the men’s sports teams took that SOB out behind the bleachers and beat the ever lovin’ hell out of him. Are all the men at university these days that much of a bunch of pansies that they won’t stand up for women on principle?

    If that’s the kind of edumacated “men” we have growing up in this country these day, we better hope we never have to fight off an enemy on our own shores.

    Riley Gaines has more balls than ANY of the rest of the men who participated in sports at UPenn.

    Because anyone who so dares to mete out a well deserved beating to one of these sacred trannies so idolized by the political left would be subjected to the most ruinously forceful prosecution (with hate crime charges added to make it sting even worse) the government could muster against those they could catch for such a “crime”.

    Between that, and the fact that so many men have just stopped caring about the state of society because we have been shat upon so much, there was clearly a collective (if subconscious) decision that “working over” these freaks just wasn’t worth the risk of being destroyed and imprisoned that came along with doing so.

    And that’s a state of affairs that still holds true, irrespective of whether these degenerate imposters are forced out of women’s sports or not. We live in a dying society, and no one will put their own neck on the line to fix problems government refuses to, because to do so will invite an extreme response from the government for daring to challenge their monopoly on force. Things will have to get much worse before the natural willingness of men to respond violently to injustice re-emerges on a large scale..
