Since when is a union also a ‘grassroots’ organization?

Saturday the 14th is gonna be interesting. A bunch of well-paid (by our tax dollars) NGOs are going to stage a nation-wide protest called ‘No Kings’. Because apparently they think that Trump thinks he’s a king or something. Even though the date and the parade are to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army (it’s also Trump’s birthday but I’m pretty damn sure he didn’t plan to be born on the same day that the Army was formed a couple of hundred years prior).

One of these ‘grassroots’ organizations is apparently the American Federation of Teachers, led by Randi Weingarten. The rest of the list of ‘partners’ reads like a who’s-who of leftist and Trump hating organizations.

There’s a map at nokings.org (not linking). It looks like nothing is close to where I am, which is good and since local university is out for the summer, I doubt anything of note will pop up.

  1. It’s going to be interesting the contrast as to how this plays out. i.e., in states such as TX or (my state) FL where we have an “Armed” citizenry… vs places like CA, NY or NJ.

    Stay vigilant in those places.

As to how it’s going to play out on the MSM, keep the Dramamine and Zofran handy.

Holy crap; there’s supposed to be one in my little pop.17K town. They should probably talk to the out-of-towner who tried to organize a BLM protest here a few years back.

  3. “Mostly peaceful protests” need to be reintroduced to fire hoses. Cheap and effective. The Left doesn’t like them because of what they think firehoses represent-the race riots of the 60s. The absence of their use shows that the authorities are fearful of looking like bad guys. Tear gas and kinetic actions are a lot more dangerous than washing the garbage away. Funny how we take something that works and say “oh- we can’t do THAT-that looks bad” because of past events. You get wet, you get knocked down and embarrassed, you go home.

  4. Wonder if, in some locations, an Army parade meets bought-and-paid-for protesters. That would be interesting.

  6. These “protests” (I use that term loosely) would be over quickly if, once the perps start looting and burning cars and buildings, their heads start exploding like grapes.

Nothing like getting covered with brain and bone matter to dampen your enthusiasm for continued protesting.

    Where are the rooftop Koreans?

    1. Hi Inac–I deliberately didn’t link to it so I modified your comment. I appreciate the help, but have my reasons.

  8. boneman–The MSM has already tried ‘fiery but mostly peaceful’ 2.0. We can’t hate them enough.

Bear–Might be worth a call to city hall to see who put in for the permit. If an out-of-towner, spreading the word on that might help.

TRoy–Fire hoses are the friend of law and order.

    Frank–They’re deliberately avoiding DC.

Unferth–They just went into hiding. Plus their ‘leaders’ stole all the money to buy houses in mainly Caucasian neighborhoods.

Nemo–I read one article that indicated that the Latin Kings said any mayhem in their neighborhoods would be met with execution.

I contacted our police chief. IF it’s permitted, it’s most likely a known leftist yankee in Osprey Cove, who previously helped arrange an anti-nuke bio-terrorism attack at the sub base (she didn’t charged because she didn’t actually take part in the action).
