Dean Koontz writes in the same genre as Stephen King. While vacationing in my town, he wrote a particularly macabre novel. He used local shops and landmarks in the novel.
The word got out and many of the tourists would ask where is this shop or how to get to that beach. Because the novel featured dogs engaged in gruesome and fantastical behaviors, tourists would also inquire about the ‘pet problem’s we have.
