I still have a rotary dial wall phone in the hallway at home. Phone techs are amazed by it and one even asked me how to make a call on it and yet not one that’s ever been to the house can figure out how to disconnect it w/o killing all the modular jacks. If the power goes out, it’s the only phone that works aside from the cell phone.
Technology!

If you get the timing right, you can pulse the hangup button to simulate the dialing on a rotary phone. I had a friend who could do it. I never got the hang of it.

TN Budd–It was worse in our house. We had an island in the kitchen that housed the rangetop. My mom constantly burned the cord by dragging it across the hot burners.

Have that glass candy dish sitting on the buffet.
Slightly off-topic – there’s a guy living in Wichita who puts photos of local flowers found around the area(as well as at a botanical garden). Other times he’ll link to some bluegrass music.
