South African refugees

I guess you have to be a certain color for liberals to get on board when a person is fleeing their country, even when you’re at risk of being brutally murdered and your land taken by the government to give to someone else a la Zimbabwe.

The Episcopal Church is refusing to help resettle them due to ‘racial justice’, which seems to be racial discrimination.

“In light of our church’s steadfast commitment to racial justice and reconciliation and our historic ties with the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, we are not able to take this step,” Rowe announced after the government contacted Episcopal Migration Ministries requesting assistance in resettling the South African refugees.

Rowe went on to say that the organization, which has a long history of receiving federal grants to resettle refugees, will terminate their agreements with the government. “We have determined that, by the end of the federal fiscal year, we will conclude our refugee resettlement grant agreements with the U.S. federal government.”

I’m not calling it a big loss to have them stop sucking from the US taxpayers.

And it’s nice to see refugees stepping off a plane holding US flags and smiling for once. I’m sure they’ll settle right in and get to work.

  1. What I hear the Episcopalians saying is the white South Africans deserve to be killed.

    Joe–Agreed!

    thatmrgguy–Yes, but I don’t think there’s a connection to this issue.

B–Absolutely. Don’t care what they’re doing or what side of the isle they’re on, the PPP’s need to stop. So much corruption and they ‘allow’ the government to circumvent the law.

  6. And they’re welcome. Pack ‘em up and send them to rural Indiana, they’ll fit right in.

  7. Some South African Anglican bishop had this to say;

” For Tutu, there is no future without forgiveness because warring groups remain stuck in endless cycles of “reprisal and counterreprisal” (260). It is the same in our personal lives. Without forgiveness, we will remain stuck and controlled by those who have hurt us. Jan 11, 2022″

  8. Believe it or not, they got a butt-load of funding from USAID
(like every other NGO). Somewhere in the neighborhood of $50 mil.

    1. WDS–I totally believe it. They all need to be cut off, just like the PPPs.

  9. Back during California Governor Brown’s first term, he tried to blockade March Air Force Base from letting Vietnamese refugees in. It wasn’t so much the color of the skin as the ideology. The Vietnamese knew what communism was — and wanted no part of it.

Something to watch for, in (probably) five years, we will be seeing “Save the poor, starving South Africans.” Currently, South Africa is a net exporter of food. They will become a net importer. They will starve (and their current client will need to find other food sources). There will be a full-court press to convince us that we should feel guilty over the poor starving South Africans. The left will probably blame it on climate change and the evil, white, industrialized west.

Let’s be clear. South Africa will starve as a direct result of their own actions against their own farmers.

The Afrikaners are welcome here. They’ll make good Americans.
It’s a shame our country screwed theirs (not to mention Rhodesia) several decades ago.

    Gerry–Indeed. Wise words.

Unferth–There is precedent and they are following the same blueprint.

    crazyeighter–Sounds like!

TRoy–Same mindset as that black and brown people can’t be racist….

TN Budd–Unfortunately the three letter agencies probably had a lot to do with both, but they’re the ones that are allowing genocide now.
