    The quadratic formula is etched in my brain. But something useful, like the Celsius/Fahrenheit conversion formula, drains away like water through a colander after I look it up (for the 1000th time).

    Unferth–I looked and can’t find a picture of him with a beard, so he must have gotten the same offer.
