So the head of the FDA Food Division, who just resigned, is named Jim Jones. Considering what the FDA has allowed to get in to or stay in our food supply (Red Dye #3 anyone??), I just had to laugh.
… spent most of his career as a federal regulator of pesticides, toxic substances, chemical safety, and pollution prevention at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and spent much of his tenure involved in leadership and decision-making related to food safety.
Pretty sure he sucked ass at his job with the EPA considering the pesticides and other toxic substances in our food supply and probably didn’t do much better at the FDA so good riddance.
ETA:
From 2017 to 2020, Jones worked for the Household and Commercial Products Association as Executive Vice President for Strategic Alliances and Industry Relations, forging relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and leading sustainability and green chemistry efforts. He then ran his own company advising clients on issues related to chemical safety and sustainability.
Gee, no conflicts of interest there either. Double good riddance. Too bad he didn’t stick around long enough to get fired instead of resigning.
