And this is why NGO contracts had to be put on hold

Over three quarters of a billion US tax dollars went to an organization where the raison d’etre is to keep illegals from being detained. So directly at odds with the wishes of the American people.

The Acacia Center for Justice (seriously):

is one of the largest federal immigration contractors, overseeing a $769 million program that provides lawyers for unaccompanied alien children and adults in immigration court hearings and deportation proceedings.

The group says its aim is to provide due process rights for illegal aliens. But it also calls for a radical upheaval of the immigration and deportation system—goals that are starkly at odds with the Trump administration’s objectives.

Launched in 2022, Acacia Center argues that “no immigrant should be detained” and that electronic surveillance to track illegal aliens “must be abolished.” According to the center, “the use of local law enforcement for immigration purposes … must be dismantled.”

They were also apparently setting policy for the government agencies that were supposed to be overseeing them. Nice turn of tables:

In a report last June, Acacia Center recommended that the Executive Office for Immigration Review, the Department of Justice subagency that handles immigration cases, implement “gender affirming language in immigration court.” Acacia Center demanded that immigration lawyers and judges use correct pronouns for illegal aliens and said that “repeated conduct that fails to affirm gender identity for noncitizens” is a violation of federal anti-discrimination laws.

I’m not seeing why our tax dollars should go to places like this. Due process is for people who are under the jurisdiction of our government, not those who snuck in.

I stay in a state of confusion these days that rivals anything Joe Walsh might have sung about. Logically, people who don’t think illegals have to answer for breaking into our country should leave their homes unlocked – or better yet take off the doors completely. Same with their cars on the street.

  2. NGO writes a white paper describing a problem and their solution. Governmental agency reads the paper and says, ” Geez, what a great idea. That’s better than we could have come up with.”
Dot gov gives NGO a couple of million $ and moves on.
    Rest of the story.
Dot gov employee leaves their job and goes to work at NGO for big bucks.
NGO employee goes to work at Dot Gov as political appointment , most likely in upper management.

The Cycle remains unbroken. The same thing happens with government contractors.

  3. “provide due process rights for illegal aliens”

Illegals are not citizens. Why are they being given “rights” that only citizens should enjoy?

It’s not just these innocuous sounding NGO’s like the Acacia center that are providing “services” and the “services” aren’t limited to legal representation.

Ask your self why both of those “good Catholics”, Bribem and Piglosi, were granted a papal audience, out of the blue, after nearly a century of elected office in DC between the two of them, in 2021.

  4. NGOs are literally extensions of the real government to hide the bad things the real government wants to do.

  5. And don’t forget ‘Catholic’ Charities and all the BS they’ve pulled, including FUNDING illegals to come to the US (and have been for over 20 years).

  6. Free Range–But yet they complain when their stuff gets stolen. I guess that our tax dollars don’t count.

Gerry–The revolving door and government/private partnerships need to die a flaming death.

Nemo–I agree. They are criminal and they are not citizens or have legal standing. And the naming of these organizations is very carefully done–no one know what they are doing. For the others, it’s because the Vatican is as corrupt.

Matthew–Exactly! Which is why they all need to be cut off.

NFO–Don’t know what’s up with the Catholics. They’ve been problematic for forever and basically started the sanctuary thing.

  7. And I’ll bet neither Pelosi nor Biden missed their weekly cookie and wine at church, despite their promotion of abortion.

They had their meeting with the Pope in 2021 to get their marching orders.

    “Den of thieves” indeed.
