Government documents and flags

Marco Rubio has hit the ground running as the new Secretary of State. Not only has he made a policy that the only flag that flies at our Embassies and other State Department buildings around the globe is the US flag, he’s no longer continuing the Biden/Blinken allowance of people putting an X on their passports in lieu of biological sex or to change their biological sex on their documents to that of their ‘preferred gender’.

Although both are great, the second one is going to have the most impact. Our data stream has been corrupted by allowing people to either change their biological sex on passports and other government documents or use the X marker.

This has allowed people to use federal documents to circumvent state law, like in Florida. There was one case that went viral because the dumbass put his law-breaking on TikTok. Updated birth certificates were being used by at least one person in Texas to get boys into girls’ sports.

From an article in the Hill from 2022, there are states that allow an ‘X’ on drivers licenses or allow changes to birth certificates to ‘X’ as well. But I think there’s starting to be pushback and changes to those policies as well.

Just the cost of changing systems to allow for those changes for a handful of people is astronomical and from an economic standpoint, is prohibitive. From a medical safety point of view, allowing those changes can threaten the individual’s life or the life of a baby.

We’ll see what happens on the state level now.

At least the only flag above our Embassies is now Old Glory, which is awesome.

In my opinion the stars and stripes is the only flag that matters.

  2. I was appalled when Obozo started the practice of putting the rainbow flag anywhere he thought would get him brownie points with the LGBTQWXYZ crowd. I was even more appalled when he projected a rainbow light display on the White House.

Next month kicks off the “let’s display our love for the minority communities” months. I’m interested to see how Trump administration 2 appreciates that difference.

Note that black history month is the shortest month of the year.

  4. O/T, but I notice here on the new site that individual comments no longer have a “reply to” capability. So, all comments are posted in a single inline sequential order.

Not a huge issue, but sometimes it’s useful to be able to reply to a specific comment in context, rather than going to the end of the queue. Don’t know if there’s an easy fix for that or not, but thought I’d mention it.

  5. Terry–Agreed.

Nemo–I think it’ll be a lot different. Rubio seems to be on top of it.

    NFO–Indeed!

BRD–Don’t know what happened. It used to work like that. I’ll try to get it figured out.
