New Sheriff in Town

The Lieutenant Governor Elect of Indiana has stated the following after hearing that some Indiana hospital systems such as Franciscan Health and other in the Indy area are starting to restrict visitors and are following the mask madness:

“We don’t have a conservative governor yet. The new administration doesn’t get sworn in until Jan 13th. The current administration is very left. We’re almost there though. Daylight is right around the corner,” Beckwith said. “Do not listen to any ‘official’ who tries to force you to mask up again.”

The article in question of course questions his legitimacy or ability to make such statements and links to an article that purports to say that ‘oh yeah, Indiana hospitals have always had mask mandates in the winter’.

Which is a pile of crap and since the NWI Times has EVERYTHING (including public information) behind a firewall, there’s no way to read the article in question, but the picture associated with it doesn’t show anyone in masks.

Since outgoing Gov Sports Metaphor (Eric Holcomb) is trolling for a new gig, he’s laying low, just as he’s done for the past year or so.

It’ll be interesting to see what the new administration in Indiana does in the coming months.

  1. However, as much as I dislike the mandate to wear masks, the hospitals ARE private property, there fore they can insist.

Having said that, they are also taking public funds, so may be there is something that might keep them from forcing you to wear a mask that way.

    YMMV

  3. B–They are quasi-public entities so that might make a difference.

  4. Interested in seeing what happens under the NEW administration. Yes, hospitals are private, but individuals still have rights too!
