For whatever reason, the feds are touting the following as a huge victory and I have no idea why…
Fresh Mark, Inc., an Ohio-based meat processing company, has entered into a non-prosecution agreement (NPA) with federal authorities after its hiring manager orchestrated a scheme involving aggravated identity theft and obstruction of justice.
Here’s what happened. For five years, one of the hiring managers of the company, Mr. Yelwin Omar Munoz-Solis, stole the identities of US citizens and gave them to illegals. This happened between 2013 and 2018. He also falsified the I-9s of those illegals. He pled guilty to a bunch of stuff but oddly enough, none of the articles I found indicated any prosecution or convictions.
One-hundred forty six illegals were arrested, of which only thirty were charged with immigration violations. It
And here’s the part that just baffles me–because the US Attorney just seems so happy and chirpy about it.
“Stealing identities to transfer to others not eligible to work is not an acceptable business practice,” said U.S. Attorney Rebecca Lutzko for the Northern District of Ohio. “Employers must ensure that their hiring practices comply with all federal laws, and businesses caught providing false statements to the government will be held to account.”
“This settlement is a testament to HSI’s commitment to the American people and our Ohio communities,” said HSI Detroit Special Agent in Charge Angie M. Salazar. “I’m extremely proud of the agents and prosecutors, who over many years saw this case through until the end. We should remain vigilant and ensure that all companies abide by the law when it comes labor practices.”
Under the terms of the agreement, Fresh Mark paid a $3,719,997 penalty and will abide by compliance reporting requirements for a period of two years. Pursuant to the Victims of Crime Act Fix to Sustain the Crime Victims Fund Act of 2021, the money will go to the federal Crime Victims Fund.
Blah, blah, fucking blah… Fresh Mark paid over three million dollars and has to walk the straight and narrow for only two years. The money is going into some slush fund instead of to the victims of identity theft facilitated by the company.
Since meat companies are hand-in-glove with the trafficking of those illegals who are here under the aegis of the Biden government, they are getting their cheap labor without having to steal US citizens’ identities anyway.
But it seems that the feds really (again) don’t care about actual victims.
