Fun Movie Friday–Pleasantville

An oft-overlooked movie starring Toby McGuire.  Also had Don Knotts in it.  And Paul Walker.  And Jeff Daniels.  Brother and sister get transported to Pleasantville, a Mayberry like town that exists only in black and white.  Books have no writing in them, firemen only exist to rescue cats from trees, and the high school basketball players win every game.

But after the slutty sister (Reese Witherspoon) decides to bring a little fun to the party and things start getting colorized, the real magic happens.  It’s a surprisingly deep and lovely film.

  7. Veeshir— You’re a lot closer. I think Rick is thinking of a book with a name that fairly close to the name of the movie. Love how her path changed during the course of the movie….
