Kathy Hochul does girl math

 For those not in the know, girl math is defined as:

When a pair of cute shoes retail at $89 and you find them on sale for $29; you did not save $60, yet this means you have $60 yet to spend!

Cassie: OMG, these are only $29??

Melissa: Nice, what’s the retail?

Cassie: $89

Melissa: You have $60 left to spend!

Melissa & Cassie: GIRL MATH!!

And in New York:

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) announced this week that New Yorkers will soon face a $9 congestion charge for driving into Manhattan’s Congestion Relief Zone, CBC News reported. Hochul originally canned the program as the presidential election loomed. Her first proposal was for people to pay a $15 and is now claiming that $9 “will save daily commuters” money.

“State law requires that congestion pricing simultaneously raise money for the MTA [Metropolitan Transportation Authority] and drive down traffic congestion. These are important priorities. But I believe that no New Yorker should have to pay a penny more than absolutely necessary to achieve these goals, and $15 was too much,” Hochul said. “I am proud to announce we have found a path to fund the MTA, reduce congestion and keep millions of dollars in the pockets of our commuters.”

Girl math, writ large.  Because charging $9 instead of $15 will somehow save people money.  

Does no one point this shit out to her and let her know how stupid she sounds?

    Just like “their” explanation for inflation…”we reduced inflation” Yeah, but you let it go up and the reduction level is still more than what is was.

    One more reason to stay away from nyc and to get rid of her. Math is hard especially counting votes.

    Ha. This is also why everything in economic statistics is expressed in a percentage change relative to the last reporting period, rather than as hard figures referenced to some previous specific point in time. It is far easier to hide the turd this way, as they know very few people will ever bother to do the research to find out how badly they are really getting screwed. The soundbite headline rules the day.

    Hokum… please… and the REAL King of NY (Curtiss Sliwa) refers to the MTA as the Money TAKING AgencyIt's all just a big money grab. Plain and simple.

    many years ago i found the subway to be okay. but eventually the communists infiltered everything even cheap transportation. to make life miserable to everyone in hope that we would turn to them fo our salvation.
