Fun Movie Friday–Nate and Hayes

From 1983.  Tommy Lee Jones.  Michael O’Keefe (the guy who played Danny in Caddyshack).  Pirates and Germans.  Set in that liminal time in the mid 1800s when sailing ships and metal clad coal powered ships shared the seas.  It came out as ‘Savage Islands’, but was renamed to ‘Nate and Hayes’ in the US (which is probably why no one saw it except me).  It got whacked by Ebert, probably because it was just a fun movie.  Some excellent swordplay, IMO.

Couldn’t find a lot of videos and the ones are long.  If you just want a fun mindless movie to while away a couple of hours, this could work.
