I’m sure you remember last week when it was reported that four college women’s volleyball teams have taken a forfeit rather than play against San Jose State University’s male player.
Well, apparently SJSU played fast and loose with their own players.
One woman who transferred in was recommended housing with three other players. She assumed they were all women because why wouldn’t she?
But one of the new roommates was the guy.
“I transferred here my junior year and was recommended to move into an apartment with a group of girls, I assumed,” Slusser told Laura Ingraham. “And so I moved in and later on came to find out that one of them was a man with no knowledge and would not have made that decision if I had known beforehand that I would be living with a man.”
According to an article in Outkick, San Jose State hid the true sex of their male volleyball player for two years.
Once Slusser and her teammates became aware of Fleming’s biological sex, the SJSU athletic department discouraged them from speaking about the issue publicly. Essentially, the school laid a guilt trip on the volleyball players, suggesting it was their responsibility to protect their male teammate from public scrutiny.
“It was more so the school only supporting Blaire, and they didn’t really seem to want to check in on us,” Slusser explained. “Basically, ‘You shouldn’t be the person to identify Blaire’s gender identity. That’s something that Blaire needs to do, and not you. That’s not your story to tell.’
There is a lawsuit against the NCAA for aiding and abetting men to be in women’s sports and locker rooms.
