All the things… ALL THE THINGS!

We know that Randi Weingarten, the head of the American Federation of Teachers is batshit crazy and was instrumental in keeping schools closed during the covid times.  But now let’s look at the head of the OTHER teachers’ union (because we really need two of them?!?)…

And she makes Weingarten look moderate…

Megalomania is definitely on display.  These people are insane and you know what/who had one small mention during that speech?  Children.  Other than that it was how the NEA needed to win ALL THE THINGS.  What things?  Dunno.  But the NEA wants all of them.  If she’s talking about all the things that are bad for our country and for public education, they’ve already got those.

But truly.  With people like Pringle and Weingarten at the helms of the teachers’ unions in the US, how can public education be saved?

The only ways I can think is to dump the Dept of Ed and get rid of the unions.

  2. The teachers union made it very clear that they work for those that pay them — the teachers. I had 3 kids graduate from high school, and if by the time your kid graduates, if you don't know 3 teachers that should be fired then you have not been paying attention. The worst one from my perspective was the male teacher that locked the PE class in boys locker room while he disappeared for a half hour. Leaving the boys and girls locked in together. He also demonstrated flagrant sex discrimination on a regular basis. When his contract wasn't renewed, the president of the local teacher's union wrote a nice letter to the editor be moaning the loss of such a fine teacher.Luckily, my son is convinced that home schooling is the way to go. He is not going to sacrifice his kids for the glory of teschers union.

It's the only way now to ensure a good education.Anon–Yeah, but I can guess–he's red with horns in most pictures.Anon–Al Shanker, President of the AFT from 1974 until his passing. Wikipedia and his Foundation tried to indicate it wasn't him, but it's likely true.

  7. We did just fine without the NEA. I was in high school when it was created. I didn't see a difference in things before I graduated, but change started soon after and accelerated, and see where we are now.Other than basics like language, general science, and mathematics, and a grounding in history, educational decisions should be taken at the state and local level.–Tennessee Budd
