Useful idiots, led by the nose

It is entirely likely that most college graduation ceremonies are going to be interrupted by paid pro-Hamas disruptors surrounded by useful idiots.

It’s already happened at the University of Michigan, whose security did not fully remove these people from the venue (only took them to the back) so they were able to continue to yell and chant and generally be ass-hats. There were even planes flying over the venue with signs.

But here’s the thing–many of this cohort missed proper high school graduation ceremonies due to the covid lockdowns.  So this behavior doubly sucks.

Whether or not you think a college degree means anything (and YMMV) a commencement ceremony is a recognition and a rite of passage. Contrasting to the small and vocal minority is the majority of students who just want to get on with life.

As some of the commenters on the article linked above noted–why was anyone allowed in who were carrying signs?

There’s also no word of arrests.

And all of this begs the question ‘why?’  This behavior does not move the needle in the direction of support for the idiots in question.  Just like blocking roads or throwing soup at priceless works of art doesn’t endear a cause to anyone with a brain.

It’s just chaos, by design.

  1. Why bother to arrest anyone if the commie prosecutors refuse to charge them and they are released before the arrest paperwork is completed. It's just a waste of time and effort AND the cops run the risk of being sued by the protesters. Just easier for the cops to just “follow orders” and do basically nothing. Want these protests to end? Recall any prosecutor/DA that refuses to do their job, replace them with someone who will and this insanity will come to a screeching halt.

  2. I have posted the solution over at my blog. You get the behavior you are willing to accept. Some people can't seem to self regulate and know not where the limits are.

  4. I did not attend my college graduation because I already had sat through all the same speeches when I graduated high school. We're the smartest, we're going to change the world, yada yada yada. Pure BS.My father however would have taken it as a personal insult if someone disrupted the program at his childrens graduation. That generation expected manners at these kind of events. So would his fellow steel workers, WWII veterans and shipyard folk who attended the ceremony.Put up a sign or act up with that crowd around you would guarantee a crack up side of the head and frog marched of the premises. And don't even think that being a girl would save you. The wives and mothers were not to be trifled with.
