re: #11 from ~2011 to 2019, the CDC had a mask FAQ available on the cdc.gov website. In it they described the difference ineffectiveness between different types of masks. One point they made was that without proper fitment, N95 masks were useless at preventing the spread of any airborne bacteria, and even with proper fitment, only slightly better at preventing the spread of airborne viruses because viruses are small enough to pass between the fibers of all masks. The only thing that effectively prevents the spread of bacteria or viruses is a fully-enclosed pressurised body suit.
