On Wednesday, Princeton University bioethics professor Peter Singer shared an article from the Journal of Controversial Ideas – a website where he is an editor and that he co-founded.
The article in question is titled: “Zoophilia Is Morally Permissible.”
The premise of the article is: “As one of our most deeply entrenched social taboos, zoophilia is widely considered to be wrong, and having sex with animals is illegal in many countries. In this article, I would like to go against this de facto consensus and argue that zoophilia is morally permissible. This would have major implications for how we legally and socially deal with zoophilia.”
Bioethics, really?!? And he posted the article to X with the comment that it is ‘thought provoking’.
“This piece challenges one of society’s strongest taboos and argues for the moral permissibility of some forms of sexual contact between humans and animals,” the Ivy League professor said. “This article offers a controversial perspective that calls for a serious and open discussion on animal ethics and sex ethics.”
The backlash was swift and scathing but probably not as brutal as it should have been.
And of course the dancing and backtracking began. He tried to claim that publication did not equal agreement. But then this conversation happened.
Q: You posted an article indicating that sexual intercourse with animals is morally permissible. You’ve also in the past published a book arguing for veganism.
That being the case, is it your official position that eating animals is not okay but having sex with them is?

Holy crap! If this guy has animals, he needs to be investigated immediately for animal abuse. And this is the type of person teaching ‘bioethics’ at Princeton.
These people need to be removed from contact with their prey. Like children, animals cannot give consent (anyone else remember the Penn State professor who was in a park having sex with his dog? to ‘blow off steam’.) This is perversity and depravity.
The sexualization of anyone, animal or child, is sick and soulless.
