 I thought this was pretty funny.  Apparently Lucien Greaves, one of the founders of The Satanic Temple, took a guy on a tour and had an obligatory selfie with the dude.  Just a day in the life, right? And not a blip on Greaves’ radar because he snaps selfies with a lot of folks.  Just like a lot of folks in public life do.

However, the guy with whom he took the selfie in question is ‘ex-woke’ and is not-so-much on trans-ing children.

And the Satanists had a collective hissy-fit.  Because they are all about individualism until someone dares to actually, you know, be an individual.

There were calls for Greaves to apologize, to cede power, to reaffirm his support for trans rights. The Temple’s British congregation announced within three weeks that all 41 of its members had voted to leave; they soon rebranded themselves as Satanists in the Wilderness. In the United States, the Temple’s Sober Faction, which had been providing court-ordered sobriety programs for people who disliked the quasi-religious structure of Alcoholics Anonymous, also objected strongly to the picture. 

Greaves blew it off because he takes a lot of selfies with people and doesn’t do a background check on them beforehand.

“I have no desire to dignify assumptions that claim I agree with individuals simply because I have interacted with them,” Greaves said in his statement, which he posted to X. “The focus must be on the work we are doing within TST to support our members, not a photo with someone whose opinions I did not vet prior to agreeing to take it.”

“I thought this went without saying, but I disagree with Tucker Carlson’s worldview, for the record,” the Satanic Temple leader said.

And he went further and refused to knuckle under.

He didn’t comply, he said, because he doesn’t want to be a universal spokesperson for progressive values: “I didn’t realize necessarily how oppressive this culture was, to me, until this explosion happened with the Silverman thing.”

Because the woke culture is a monolithic one. And the supposed ‘free-thinkers’ and ‘individualists’ tend to be the most monolithic of all.
