Let them eat cake: Part Deux

I’m not sure where Marie Antoinette was when she said ‘Let them eat cake.’ but if she was anywhere, it was probably at the Palace of Versailles.

And again in the modern day.…

From the Daily Mail 

Guests dined off the Service des Oiseaux, decorative bird-motif plates made by the famous Porcelaine de Sevres, at a 60m long table decorated with locally sourced roses and hydrangeas in shades of pink, purple and white.

Dishes were served up from a temporary kitchen as historically, the vast Palace has never had a full working kitchen because only the King and Queen ate there.

Before the King and Queen’s arrival at the banquet, celebrity guests mingled with diplomats and politicians.

    Of course the grifted class desires of us to be serfs, to grovel at their feet and their biddings. They want us sequestered into hovels, far from the new royal hunting and riding grounds, no desire on their part to gaze upon thread-bare serfs and slaves while on horseback of yore. The betters want us work mules to support the corruption and merriment of their miserable lives.

    I would have the Henry VIII meal for these folks. Throwing bones at them and to dogs fighting under their chairs would amuse me no end.

    wildman–The right people weren't there for that to be a win. Oddly enough.Cederq–I can't think of anything to add to that.Gerry–I vote for that.
