Girls in a Wisconsin high school are choosing to forego athletics due to a male student in womanface being allowed to play in women’s sports and use the women’s locker room. They aren’t mentioning the sport, but from their verbiage, I’d bet that it’s volleyball. As a reminder, a girl got hit so hard by a return shot made by a male on a female team that she is likely still suffering from neurological problems.
“A lot of these girls are specifically quitting this team because they’re concerned for their safety,” Gusick added, while a concerned mother said that the male student has “the most power” out of any one playing.
Additionally the girls really don’t want to share a locker room with a male. The girls and parents were told that if the girls have problems with a male playing in their sport and using their locker room then THEY should seeking counseling (but counseling isn’t recommended for the male who thinks he’s a female?).
The WIAA has had a three-page policy for transgender athletes since 2015, according to WIAA Director of Communications Todd Clark.
Clark tells FOX 11 he has never heard of any complaints about the policy or transgender athletes. However, he admits if there were complaints, the WIAA does not keep a record.
If enough girls opt out, then it’ll be a ‘team’ of one. It’s horrible for the girls to have to give up opportunities, but until these discriminatory policies are reversed, it’s going to have to happen.
