This particular holiday ranks up there in importance–it’s important to remember our values, the values of the Founding Fathers, and our freedoms.
Regardless of what you do today–if you stay at home, go to a parade, have a gathering of friends, take some time to bring the pride of being an American to the forefront of your brain.
Politics is politics, but our pride is bred into our bones.
That Lee Greenwood song has to be the worst song ever written. “Where at least I know I'm free?” Seriously? Free? It wasn't true when written, and it isn't true now, but saying it is apparently is enough for some.

Anon–Maybe I just try to be glass half full. And we still have it better than a lot of countries. At least it gives me hope and makes me remember things that are good. But you can/should keep your negativity to yourself. Don't like what I post, either don't drop in or refrain from commenting (or if you have your own blog, spew there). This is my party.

The song means to each person what they want it to mean. I was walking down the street of Osan AFB in Korea and it started playing coming out of the base speakers. It was a reminder to me of the closest thing to heaven on earth. Regardless of all of its faults, God Bless the USA.
