Right up the street… because they neglected to close the garage door… one of the neighbors had a gator IN THEIR GARAGE.Oops!I had to curtail my fishing activities the other night as a gator cruised in to the pond I was fishing in. Using topwater lures… the damn thing immediately started chasing it.FORTUNATELY, the people in the community here have not been stupidly FEEDING them… hence, they still have their natural FEAR of humans. Every one I have encountered so far have RUN LIKE HELL when I get near them.That in no way means I'm going to test the theory, mind… I don't on purpose approach them. It happens though some times.My rule is I don't mess with them in hopes that they will reciprocate. But I hold no expectation… and keep a wary eye on them when near.
