Accommodation is NOT Equity

So I had someone tell me that providing a Spanish translator, wheelchair ramps, and such is considered to be equity.  I consider those things to be accommodation.

The left always is changing the definition of words to mean something else (and sometimes dictionaries follow suit, like they did with ‘vaccination’).  Or how sexual assault went from actual forced sexual contact to a whistle or being asked on a date.

It’s to give their ideas legitimacy.  But providing a translator is not justice and it’s not fairness.  It’s providing a service.

Wheelchair ramps are a matter of law and accommodation–not justice or fairness.  As Divemedic points out, equity means the same outcome, unlike equality, which is the same standard.  Nothing about justice in that.

This is the game that the left plays to give their ideas gravitas.

  1. The left learned long ago that controlling the language made it much easier for them to control almost everything else.

  2. The only people the left controls are the low information voters and the grifters and parasites. IOW, the useless weight.

  3. Dan–Correct–like the hat trick they pulled with vaccination.ghostsniper–Unfortunately those seem to be the majority. Due to the destruction of public education, no one from Millennials on back have a clue.

  4. This boomer has a clue… eyes wide open since Bushes terms. Spanish translator? Where were Swedish translators when my great grand father legally immigrated? No accommodation then, he had to learn English quickly. I appreciate wheelchair ramps as I am a bit of a weeble wobbly in my declining years. A retired psych nurse and behavioral therapist, the medical community is overrun now with these leftist liberals, it isn't the same. They don't come up with these ideas, but they sure pander and promote these new definitions and instructions from politicians, local lib activists and the pharma/medical cabal.

  5. Yep, equity and equality ARE two entirely different things. ADA requires things like ramps, etc. for equality… sigh

I have been seriously thinking of moving back to South Dakota or Nebraska.
