The FDA is having to dance back on their war on Ivermectin.  They insist that what they said was just ‘guidance’ or a recommendation.

People are calling bullshit, accurately.

In addition to the pressure that was (and still is) being put on people to get the shots, the second prong was to deny any treatments that were NOT the shot, such as hydroxychloroquine or ivermectin.

This is what the FDA actually said about ivermectin:

 The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19 in people or animals. Ivermectin has not been shown to be safe or effective for these indications.

The most effective ways to limit the spread of COVID-19 include getting a COVID-19 vaccine when it is available to you and following current CDC guidance.

The AMA had to jump in also: 

…we are calling for an immediate end to the prescribing, dispensing, and use of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 outside of a clinical trial. In addition, we are urging physicians, pharmacists, and other prescribers—trusted health care professionals in their communities—to warn patients against the use of ivermectin outside of FDA-approved indications and guidance, whether intended for use in humans or animals, as well as purchasing ivermectin from online stores.

 Use of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 has been demonstrated to be harmful to patients. Calls to poison control centers due to ivermectin ingestion have increased five-fold from their pre-pandemic baseline. A recent CDC Health Alert Network Advisory (PDF) recommends that health care professionals should counsel patients against use of ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19, including emphasizing the potentially toxic effects of this drug, including “nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Overdoses are associated with hypotension and neurologic effects such as decreased consciousness, confusion, hallucinations, seizures, coma, and death.”

As an aside, the information about poison control centers and ivermectin was false. 

“The erroneous alert from which the incorrect statistic was taken is what started the entire campaign against ivermectin,” she said. “It spurred the FDA tweet. The rest — the CDC tweet, the AMA decision — is history.”

This part of the war was designed to funnel people back to the vaxx–limiting alternatives.

Some states, like Ohio, are taking action…

Receiving its first hearing Tuesday was House Bill 631, or the COVID-19 Health Care Professional-Patient Relationship Protection Act, which would protect the use of drugs not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat COVID-19 patients.

As long a patient or its representative consents to the treatment – and a health care provider deems its use appropriate – Ohioans diagnosed with COVID-19 are eligible to receive drugs like ivermectin and other “alternative treatments,” according to bill sponsor Rep. Kris Jordan (R-Ostrander).

The fact that they are having to do this, despite the fact that drugs are used off-label all of the time based on the experience of the doctor and wish of the patient, shows the strength of an FDA ‘recommendation’.
