Finding out that useless attacks on art torques people off

Yep, somebody actually did a study that found out, not surprisingly, that throwing cake at the Mona Lisa or soup at a Van Gogh does not endear people to the anti-oil/environmentalist cause.  Actually, it turns people off more completely and makes them equate this stupidity with their cause (my evaluation).

Kind of like those idiots who glue themselves to things.  In England and other places, stopping traffic has caused harm to people trying to get to the hospital.  One man missed his father’s funeral.

“There was a sense of how dare they, how dare they have the lack of forethought. To say ‘I’ll tell you what we’re going to do, we’re going to block these roads and be damned everybody else’.

“By doing this, the civil disruption you don’t raise people to your cause, you actually alienate yourselves on this.

At least when they glue themselves indoors, it makes it easy to arrest them.  Especially when they are stupid enough to not bring food or a pot to piss in (literally)

  1. Rip them loose without benefit of any prep, or leave them there for a few days to stew in their own juices… THEN put their asses in jail for a minimum of 10 years.

  3. If they glue themselves to the road surface why do anything? Lower the speed limit to 15MPH for 30 minutes (prevents denting), run the water pressure road cleaning truck through a couple times then back to normal speeds with a “road may be slippery” sign and call it a day. They knew it was a road with motor vehicle traffic when they glued themselves to it, right? Random thought on the painting issue: not really a surprise the Cake and Tomato Soup Gang earns enmity, they deserve it and more, but…if the gallery is lighted with fluorescents does the protective plastic covering filter UV? How about the window coverings? Even reflected sunlight contans quite a bit of UV. And, do the galleries allow flash pictures of the art? If one wished to (secretly) desecrate art, lots of high-intensity flash pictures would do it. Might take a while but probably harder to recover from than soup (although tomato soup, IIRC, sits toward the higher end of the ph scale). Anon 2

  4. Anon 2–I bet the cops wish they could do that. As far as the art, don't give them any ideas….
