The ACLU is now a charity??

ACLU is running a bunch of commercials like the ASPCA, Shriners Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project or other charities.  Apparently they have an arm that is an IRS-approved charity.

For only $19 a month, you can support the ACLU’s fight for ‘all’ as long as ‘all’ is comprised of black, brown, illegal, LGB, or transgender people.

Interestingly enough, straight white people are not mentioned.

Also of note is the fact that their website talks about a democracy, not a democratic republic.

I have better uses for $223/year–like for groceries or gas.  If I was going to throw it down the tubes, I’d buy some ginzu knives or something from some other infomercial.  At least with the other charities you get a tee shirt or a cute fleece throw blanket.

YMMV.
