In an effort to save money, Oberlin College partnered with a new student health care service provider. Harness Health Partners, a Bon Secours Mercy Health subsidiary, is a Catholic healthcare facility.
Like many Catholic healthcare facilities, Harness Health Partners adheres to Catholic doctrine when it comes to birth control. It says on their website that they follow the Ethical and Religious Directive for Catholic Health Care Services (ERDs). So it should not have been a surprise.
But Oberlin, being Oberlin, has to show its collective ass on National Public Radio and, ironically enough, show the world that they don’t understand what’s clearly written out.
And to get their students birth control pills and such, they are having to partner with ANOTHER provider.
Losing any savings they might have gained.
Not sure exactly why the Board of Trustees isn’t stepping in to bring these idiots to heel. They’re losing money left and right.
