Roe v Wade–finally dead

I know that a bunch of folks are going to be commenting on this, but thought I’d add my .02.  I was six years old when Roe v Wade came down.  I grew up with it along with the litany of ‘my body, my choice’ and saw the beginnings of dehumanizing babies to ‘just a few cells’.

My generation, truly the 1st gen of this decision, didn’t quite drink the koolaid so thoroughly.  Freedom of choice (for others) but I’d never do it was pretty standard thinking.  But then I saw it go more and more radical and the ones who became less than human are the ones who trumpet to the world that they’ve killed their babies as if it were a matter of honor instead of abject horror and shame.

Women grabbed onto baby-killing because, as traumatic as it is, they couldn’t handle actually handing their children over to loving homes and families for adoption or putting aside their aspirations (by then being a mother was also propagandized into a bad thing).

Then all of the other federalizing came down, based on this one decision.  States’ rights went by the wayside and since Senators are now elected by popular vote, the states had no one to advocate for them.

This decision was also the first ‘activism from the bench’.  Legislating instead of using the Constitution as a litmus.  The fact that this UnConstitutional injustice has finally been reversed is a breath of fresh air and I’m very glad.

  1. I have never supported abortion but really try to stay away from it as a political issue because those that support it are without the ability to change their minds. (yes, I do think my position is correct because it involves NOT killing a human)I have always argued against the Roe decision because IT WAS HORRIBLE LAW !!!! Like most positions that liberals take, they can't defend their decisions based on facts or law.We can never negotiate with them because just like “What is a woman”, they can't say what a life is.
