What did they expect? Do your diligence before buying a house.

 A couple in Massachusetts bought a house on a golf course.  And their house has, surprising no one, been continually pelted by golf balls.  Apparently their house is in a particularly bad spot.  Regardless, they sued the country club and actually won.

This kind of stupid, aided and abetted by the court system is just mind-blowing.

So let’s tick off some things to look at before buying a house:

  • On a golf course, expect golf balls through your window and dents in your siding.
  • Near railroad tracks, expect trains to go past at all hours of the day and night.
  • Near a pig or chicken farm, expect smells–lots and lots of smells.
  • Near an airport, expect to hear planes.
It’s really not that hard if you do a little diligence.  In this case, they wanted the prestige of living on the golf course.  The rest should have been expected.

    A jury made the award, they always seem to treat the big pay days as it is somebody else's money. I wonder if it will hold up on appeal.I recall a couple bought a river front 2 acre parcel by my old home town for $25K, way under the market pricing for the area. They were shocked to learn it was on a flood plain and they could not build on it. The couple hired a lawyer and sued everyone who was standing still but alas they were told they had failed to prove it was anyone's fault but their own.Happy endings are always nice.

    I fully expect this verdict to be overturned.YOU BOUGHT A FREAKING HOUSE ON A GOLF COURSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Common sense dictates the suit would never have been brought. Common sense dictates it would have been dismissed straight a way. Common sense dictates the plaintiffs would not prevail.So far we're 0-3. In the modern day justice system (which is obly pretend and merely a facsimile of real jurisprudence) every opinion is equal, all ave equal standing; even the dumbshit who knowingly, or failed in due diligence (an actual tenet of actual law) bought a property with patent defects, may prevail and be made whole. This even though the harm done them is by their own hand.With this in mind, I would expect the man desiring to commit suicide, after having drawn the knife across his throat, would sue the police for not arriving sooner. And he would prevail in what is today laughably called the courts.

    Matthew W and Rick–I can't believe it actually made it to court. Should have been dismissed before it got in front of a judge.Rick–Unfortunately we're at that point of stupid.
