Louisiana’s legislature is pushing an offshore windmill project and its citizens are not real happy about it. Much like the devil’s-deal that the US and other governments struck with Pfizer and Moderna, this legislation would hand over 25,000 acres to private companies and there would be absolutely no government oversight or accountability for the actions of those companies.
Bearing in mind that windmill projects are the ultimate boondoggle, but no true environmentalist would ever think they were a good idea. They fail everywhere and do not ever live up to the rainbows and glitter that they are touted to.
Additionally, windmills themselves are horrible for the environment–from what it takes to make them, the fact that they cannot be recycled and the animal kills–all flying critters are at risk.
One ‘green’ company was recently fined since their windmills killed 150 bald eagles.
Let’s say that again: one-hundred-fifty bald eagles. If any other company had that body count, they would be shut down and PETA would be all over them like a cheap suit.
Seriously, if I could take a chainsaw to all of them, I’d have them all on the ground in a heartbeat. All they are is a feel-good with consequences far more serious than any fossil fuel.
