Respect mah authoritah

 A judge in downstate Illinois has put a stop on mask mandates in schools.  There’s some question as to the scope–if it’s only for the plaintiffs, or if it’s for the entire state.  I saw something last night where the Chicago Public Schools are still mandating because of the collective bargaining agreement with the teacher’s union that had masking as a must-do before they’d drag their sorry asses back to the classroom.

With Delaware and NJ ending their mask mandates for schools, there are eight states left with school masking mandates, if you include DC.

So JB Cartman is immediately appealing the order because tyrants gotta tyrant.  It seems that Dems really have an issue when their perceived authority is questioned.  Either that, or they just like to see the little people’s children or those they consider to be lesser as faceless drones.

Here’s a list of Chicago suburb schools and their new policies.  Several schools were closed on Monday to discuss this new development.  Because of course they would have to close to talk about it, right?

District Breakdown:


– Chicago Public Schools: Masks required
– Timothy Christian Schools: Masks optional
– U-46 in Elgin: Undecided
– Barrington School District: Masks recommended but not required
– District 200 in Wheaton: Masks recommended but not required
– District 67 in Lake Forest: Masks recommended but not required
-Geneva School District 304: Mask optional on Tuesday.
-Hinsdale/Clarendon Hills School District 181: Open Tuesday. Masks optional but encouraged.
-Schaumburg District 54: Masks not required
– St. Charles CUSD 303: Masks suggested but not required
-Orland School District 135: Masks not required
-Wheaton School District 200: Masks recommended but not required
-Plainfield District 202: Masks recommended but not required
-Lisle District 202: Continuing mask mandate, will make final decision after survey of parents
-Algonquin District 300: Open Tuesday, continuing mask mandate
-Benet Academy: Open Tuesday, masks recommended but not required

    When my sister drove down to So KY from Chicago she said it was like arriving in another country. Most people were out and about and not wearing masks.She wondered why wasn't any one here afraid of Covid 19, son of Covid 19, the return of the son of Covid 19 and whatever the currant bastard child of Covid is called?I said most people were concerned, but after this amount of time they just tuned out the media and surprise they didn't get any sicker than they did from the flu in normal times. People here are not as dependent of .gov as most city people, in fact the tend to look at government with a skeptical eye. I think there is a limit to the amount of times you can cry wolf before people tune out.

    Gerry–I agree. What's interesting is that although the movement started downstate, so many northern districts are following suit.
