Thich Nhat Hanh has made his transition

Zen Buddhist monk and teacher of of Engaged Buddhism, Thich Nhat Hanh, has left this plane on January 22 and is ascending to the next at the age of 95

I was able to sit in at a lecture he gave at Harvard several years ago (after almost getting elbowed in the face by a woman who obviously needed to listen to him more than I did) and found his presence to be quite tranquil.

Mindfulness is a lot harder to accomplish than one might think but I do try to use his methods.

I wish him well on his journey.

  1. May he rest in peace or ascension, as the case may be.

  2. NFO–I think he brought a lot of good into the world. Interesting man.

  3. Unfortunately for him, his next “ascension” will be to Hell.

  4. Stuart–Not sure I understand your comment. No, he wasn't Christian, but I think that he was a good man and I believe that counts. YMMV but I really won't allow that kind of denigration on my blog.
