It's for the students–a myth completely busted

 ‘It’s for the students!’

That’s what teacher’s unions have been saying whenever they want pay increases, days off, whatever.  ‘It’s for the children’ is their battlecry.

Except that covid lockdowns and online ‘teaching’ have made it perfectly clear that it’s not for the children.  It’s for the teachers and the unions (which most of us already knew).

‘It’s for the teachers’ is the truth.  And they’ve been showing it in spades.

Chicago teachers refusing to return to classes until certain conditions are met ‘for the safety of the teachers’.  Fuck the students.

Flint, Michigan is going completely online.  Flint is a pit second only to Detroit and might just beat them out.  Their kids were doing poorly enough in class–might as well just give them a jail jumpsuit right now.

Fairfax County Schools are making students the pawns in their dick-measuring contest with the new Governor over masks.  Nothing shows caring like punishing students to make a political point.  Of course in tother schools in Virginia, sexual assault that results in an arrest by police merits a one day suspension.

Teachers don’t want their lesson plans to be known by the parents (the better to indoctrinate my dear).

And there’s a lot of school boards that aren’t much better.  The latest is the one in Pennsylvania, where parents were told by an elected school board member that  ‘I don’t work for you.’

This Illinois student lays it all out from the student standpoint as to what they are being taught now in public schools.  Brava to her.

So next time a teacher or school board screams that it’s ‘for the children’, take that with a big ol’ carton of Morton’s.
