Now I'd call that irony

 So the man who is claiming to be a woman so he can feel better about himself by winning swim meets against biological women was whomped by a woman who is making the transition to be a man.

The reason I wrote the above just that way is this:  

The man on the U Penn women’s swim team, to the best of anyone’s knowledge, hasn’t done anything other than hormone therapy to actually become a woman.  

On the flip side, the woman on the Yale swim team who beat him, has actually taken surgical steps (breast removal) but has not started on hormone therapy in order to continue to compete in women’s sports.

The first one reeks of con artist, the second one is committed to the path.

Maybe it made a difference.  Maybe cheaters never truly win.
