The President of Hillsdale College agrees with my premise (or most probably came to that same conclusion himself) that those who pay the piper call the tune and that this has caused confirmation bias within the scientific community.
More than that, holding the pursestrings is allowing the NIH to empower itself, according to President Arnn. He says: “The peer review system is responsive to the leadership of the NIH and the CDC.”
Here’s something more interesting:
Arnn recalled presidential medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci’s previous role as the head of the NIAID, a subsidiary of the NIH, and his authority of grant-making decisions. He said the CDC advocated for greater governmental control over “how people live in order to assure public health — how densely they live [and] where they live,” just “months before the pandemic.”
He said, “That’s a comprehensive state-planning function, and so that means they get power from a centralized system, and they’re partial to studies that reinforce their power.”
What Arnn didn’t mention is that right now, to a large extent, the CDC has that control. We just need to figure out how to put checks to that back into place.
