The South African strain that they are making so much fuss about was actually tagged in July, not a few days ago and was first identified in November 2020. It’s interesting that all of the articles that referred to B.1.1.529 were updated on November 26, 2021, thus erasing the original publication date. But some folks took screenshots.
That’s why the pharmaceutical companies are so close to a revised injection–this wasn’t discovered two days ago. And in the last YEAR, there’s no evidence that this variant spreads or causes any more harm than a cold and is probably less than Alpha or Delta variants.
