It's truly the Wuflu now, at least to the CDC

A couple of weeks ago, the head of the CDC said:

“Whether it’s an infection from the flu, coronavirus, or even just the common cold. In combination with other steps like vaccination, hand washing and keeping physical distance, wearing your mask is an important step you can take to keep us all healthy.”

This week:

CDC to probe massive flu outbreak at the University of Michigan

Most of the flu cases have occurred in unvaccinated individuals.

See, now they can use the term ‘unvaccinated’ in regards to flu shots.  Which have, heretofore, never been referred to as vaccines (it’s a feature, not a bug of the change of the definition of vaccine and vaccination).

Let’s look at the verbiage about flu shots. They admit they don’t work, really, but people should get them anyway:

So, although the flu shot may not prevent all cases of influenza, it helps protect you from severe infection and death and can help reduce the spread of the virus in communities.

Sound familiar?

People who are vaccinated against Covid-19 are less likely to spread the virus even if they become infected, a new study finds, adding to a growing body of evidence that vaccines can reduce transmission of the delta variant.

Being fully vaccinated is still preventing hospitalization in 86% of patients and death in 82%, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Second verse, same as the first.  Wash, rinse, repeat.  They are now trying to make something that we just know happens and deal with into another ’emergency’.

  3. The flu shot is actually a vaccine. However, I laugh at the “science” of saying the “unvaccinated”. The flu shot only addressed one strain of the flu. Even if you get the flu shot you are still “unvaccinated” against the other strains. To make a blanket statement about the people contracting the flu being “unvaccinated” is incredibly agenda driven.

  4. Joe–according to the latest definition, it is. But you're right in that the folks are guessing as to which strains are going to hit and they usually swing and miss to the tune of about a high of 40% efficacy (and it's usually lower).
