And again, the rest of the story–jobless claims

The business rags and the Administration are touting jobless claims and how they are now below March 2020 numbers.

What they aren’t saying is that extended unemployment benefits ran out in September in most states.  And once you are not getting unemployment payments, then you are not counted as a jobless claim, regardless if you have a job or not.

Most middle management folks who were laid off or ‘reorganized’ out by companies are most likely the bulk of these folks who have lost benefits but are not employed.

Businesses, including academia, used the Wuflu as a cover to get rid of their higher paid employees (not the highest paid–they are still in place) with the thought of replacing them with new, lower paid staff.

HR scanning software is also an issue–if you don’t have a document set up properly, then most software will put you in the ‘pass’ pile and it’s almost impossible to figure out how to format a resume to get past this wall.  So despite having a greater and more experienced skillset as well as a will to work, they are finding themselves locked out of many jobs.

And that’s the rest of the story….
