So you have medical personnel being fired over not getting the jab. LEOs are being fired or quitting (except in LA where the sheriff has said that he’s not going to enforce a mandate). Southwest Airlines and Amtrak had some ‘issues’ over the weekend due to lack of pilots, ATC, or staff. Our military are being threatened with non-deployment, in the case of the SEALS, or with dishonorable discharges.
Thousands felt that they had no choice and succumbed, wanting to keep their jobs.
But, but, but….
There are over 45,000 VA workers who have not proven that they’ve been jabbed and the deadline was last Friday. But they still have their butts in seats and are getting paid. It’ll probably be months before any definitive action is taken. There are over 750,000 postal employees who are exempt. Congress is exempt (and they have access to Ivermectin if they want it). Even Gavin Newsom’s daughters are exempt from his own state executive order.
Bearing in mind that there is an executive order in place for those VA employees, but nothing for private employers or employees–no order, no rule, no reg, no law, then the hypocrisy is stunning (although I’m having to reset my hypocrisy-meter to 11 at this point).
Laws are for all or for none. Executive orders do not override laws that are passed that do not explicitly let the executive branch set regulations.
We’re definitely into banana republic territory now.
