Going to the Ren Faire in a most unMedieval Way

Mr B and I joined the Shekel yesterday at the Michigan Renaissance Faire.  I am a fan of Faires and hadn’t been to this one, so it was a nice treat, plus getting to see a friend, plus getting to go there in Mr B’s new plane.  Gotta say that it is a totally different experience flying so high…

I didn’t completely garb up, but did a get a bit of my Ren on for the occasion.  As is my tradition when going to a new faire I bought a blade from Sabersmith–they are a company based in Michigan, but produce blades for Ren Faires around the country–I think I bought my first one at King Richard’s Faire in Carver, MA a couple of decades ago.  They are mementoes of good times.

It was a great day!

  1. I live not far from the MI faire. One of the funniest things I ever saw was 3 guys dressed as monks and 1 guy as a knight (with armor) tossing around a football in a restaurant parking lot!
