In this case, the American Academy of Pediatrics. Which has come out in favor of masking all kids all of the time in school. Before we get to the smoking gun, let’s look at associations in general.
Associations basically exist to grow the association. To do that, they provide a place for a specific cohort to gather and provide them with things–information, grants, etc. They lobby on behalf of their members to get them stuff from federal and state governments. They have agendas which may or may not be in accordance with their members’ wishes or thoughts. They’re basically great big clubs.
Just because a club has ‘Academy’ in its name does not mean that they are actually research/thoughtful/scientific groups. They don’t have additional gravitas, nor should they. Anyone who can pay the dues can be a member if they meet admission criteria (and sometimes there’s not any criteria). For example, I can be a member of the American Academy of Religion even if I don’t study religion–I just pay my dues.
That said, let’s look closer at the AAP with the thought that ‘he who pays the piper calls the tune’.
One of the biggest monetary supporters of the AAP’s CATCH program (Community Access To Child Health) is Pfizer. You know, the same Pfizer that’s pushing injections on kids and is presently experimenting on 2 year olds.
So there’s the answer as to why they’re pushing what they are. The pushback against masking, in their minds, forces injections so that children can breathe freely. Or maybe it’s part of their SJW agenda–let’s make all of our children into faceless drones. Dunno. But it sure looks like they’ve been bought off.
