I was flipping channels on Friday night and came across the perfect my generation’s movie duo.
The Baby Boomers have The Graduate, Animal House, American Graffiti, and Easy Rider.
Gen Xs have the Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Risky Business.
Friday’s double feature was The Breakfast Club followed by Sixteen Candles (the latter is a chick flick, but still had enough for the guys to laugh about).
It was a good nostalgia trip.
Unfortunately these two movies probably couldn’t be made today. Even though they hit real feelings and ideas of teens of the time, they would be shitcanned by the PC Police. It’s a shame that in today’s world, teens can’t just be themselves.
