China is putting forth an alternative to the Suez Canal for shipping. During the blockage, demand for over the land shipping directly from China to the EU shot up. I’m guessing that they’ll take advantage of this ‘accident’ to bolster and strengthen this connection.

I have been wondering about that since about day two. I had the impression that the “Silk Road” road rail project was kind of stalled with less enthusiasm. On the other hand could it benefit a competitor of China to have Chinese goods tied up for a while. Wonder whose goods were on that boat?
