The State of Indiana really, really wants me to know that I am eligible to get a 'vaccine'

So I get a text today from the state letting me know that I am now eligible to get an injection or two if I want to.

It was an unsolicited text and I’m told by the IN Dept of Health that since they have my DoB and phone number from my doctors visits (all doctor visits are reported to the State) they used that information to text me.

My only recourse was to text ‘STOP’ so it doesn’t happen again (I really wanted to text ‘FU’ but that wouldn’t make the texts stop).

Gov Sports Metaphor thinks that everything is hunky dory and that he doesn’t need to take any action to loosen restrictions, even though all indicators are trending downward.  Trend analysis was good enough to put restrictions into place, but he’s relying on some cracked crystal ball that predicts problems due to variants instead of, you know, actual data.  Of course the Mighty Vaccine will save everything.

ETA:  Sports Metaphor is also up for his shot now.  Didn’t look too happy that he could dodge it anymore by saying he didn’t want to cut in line.

But why do I think of the movie clips below every time he’s talking (or the CDC Sock Puppet/gynecologist)?

  1. HAHA!! Got one of those from Indiana too. Can't be from a doctor visit though, I have never been to a doctor since moving here over 5 years ago. I did text “FU” before I texted “STOP”. After that we got multiple calls a day on our land line from various places in Indiana. two weeks and that seems to have stopped, probably because we don't answer unknown callers.

  2. I don't need State Government acting like a telemarketer. I was wondering if they got my info from the BMV, but the poor little girl who answered the phone at the health dept said that they had the information in their database. I don't answer unknowns either. Come to think about it, I got two unknowns on Tuesday….
