NBC News’ pet ‘historian’, Michael Beschloss, seems to have a disconnect between the modern world and historical reality (I would bet he also wants to rewrite history in light of present-day social norms and thinks that burning books is awesome).
He truthfully points out that President Andrew Johnson never tweeted videos about himself. However, since context is everything; Johnson died in 1875 and Twitter came into being in 2006, I’m thinking that tweeting would not have been an option for President Johnson.
This is the same idiot who tried to say that Lincoln never snapped at a reporter.
Except for sitting on a bunch of boards, Michael has no education or connection to history–BA in Political Science and an MBA. But he has written books on Presidential history and people actually take him seriously. Now I think that a hobby is a good thing, but the idiocy coming out of this man’s mouth should take him off the circuit…..
