RIP Peter O'Toole

Although he’s known for more pithy and thought-provoking roles, I liked him very much in the below movie.ย

  1. I really liked him in My Favorite Year, an Errol Flynn-like character in the twilight of his career doing a live TV show. So many great scenes and lines…For me, the best line in the movie was when he went into the ladies room by mistake and was taken to task by Lil (Selma Dimaond from Night Court):Lil: “Hey! This is for ladies only!”Alan: (unzips his fly)”So is this, ma'am… But every now and then I have to run a little water through it.”O'Toole was awesome…

  2. Sad…He was one of the last greats of screen and stage. I think my favorite role of his was as Henry II , in The Lion in Winter.

  6. I'm with Monkeywrangler. He was brilliant as Henry II. He also played Henry II in “Becket” a few years later, opposite Burton.

  7. I cannot think of a bad thing he did. “Rogue male” is another favorite. A class act all the way, a very pretty man, and the kind of accent that makes a certain type of woman just take off their clothes.
