President Obama: This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.
President Medvedev: I understand. I will transmit this information to Vladimir.
He’s now backing off his comments like a sheep cornered on the side of a cliff by a randy Scotsman.
However, after throwing Poland under the bus already on missile defense, I don’t think there can be much misunderstanding as to what he said when he thought he couldn’t be heard. And I don’t think I’m wrong in that the Defense Secrets Act of 1911 is still in force today. As Himself points out, his negotiations on our national security and defense are explicitly geared towards his re-election, not towards the good of the country.
